I’m Allison J. Althoff, and my articles on faith, arts, culture, politics, media, marketing, sexuality, entertainment, and international missions work have been featured on the Chicago Tribune’s homepage, Christianity Today, Today’s Christian Woman, This is Our City, her.meneutics, Medill Reports: Chicago, and more. StrengthsFinder tells me I’m full of Woo and Positivity, which means I’d love to get to know you. Stop by and say hi on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, Instagram, and on my personal website (http://www.ajalthoff.com).
I’m a writer and editor living in Chicago, passionate about social media and the intersection of faith, arts, and culture. I can currently be found working at Christianity Today, where I operate as Today’s Christian Woman‘s associate online editor. I’ve almost doubled website traffic since September 2012 thanks to creation and management of numerous social media channels and increased editorial content. I’m also a blogger at ChicagoNow on a site called “A Daily Miracle” where I write faith-based posts on various topics.
My claim to fame is meeting Justin Bieber in summer 2009, but I’ve also met and interviewed musicians and entertainers including Chris Tomlin, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Chris Cagle, Mac Powell, Kari Jobe, Christy Nockels, Louie Giglio, David Crowder, Kim Walker-Smith of Jesus Culture, Nik Wallenda, and more.
In my spare time, I’m on staff at Wheaton College where I’m employed as the Journalism Certificate Program Assistant. I’m responsible for helping teach courses in online journalism and coordinating journalism events on campus, and help Wheaton students find internships, jobs, and experience in the fields of professional journalism and media.
I love Red Bull, Jesus, and being left-handed, and thank God for the gift of life every day. As St. Iraneus said: “The glory of God is man fully alive.”
